LA LUMITERALE

"Through this hybrid installation, Laurie-Anne Jaubert explores the different materialities of light. Combining animation, sound transformation, and textiles construction, she creates a space for liminal entities. "La Lumitérale" is the result-in-progress after the residency at Werktank and it revolves around metamorphosis, the mutability of temporalities, from suspension through the hypnotic states. By playing with the idea of sound loops - which is in fact consistently changing complications of movements integrated with the ambiance - the works explore the experience of the disorder. This luminous creature oscillates between several realities which are made to immerse inside the experimental fable."

Soundtrack of the installation:

Hybridizing light animation, sound mutation and textile construction, La Lumitérale offers the experience of a fine breach, of a frontier space between real and virtual, between abstraction and figuration. La Lumitérale revolves around a symbiosis of image and sound. By playing with the idea of ever-complicating sound loops allied to luminous creatures that emerge and unfold, the experience becomes hypnotic and sensitive. The notion of time evaporates. Through the combination of the movement of animations integrated into the atmosphere, this work explores the experience of trouble, of doubt by immersing us inside an experimental fable inspired by Lucretius' De Rerum Natura and the two Essays on the Appearance of Didi-Huberman.
